Boston Conference


Travel & Hotel Information

All classes and events will be held in Boston's Back Bay at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, 39 Dalton Street, Boston MA 02199.

This luxury hotel, the largest in Massachusetts, is connected to the Prudential Center and Copley Place Mall, which offers more than 200 shops and restaurants just one block from Newbury Street. For a map of the area, click here.

Reserving a room
Accommodations are not included with your conference tuition and must be booked directly with the Sheraton Boston by calling 800-325-3535 or 617-236-2000 or click here to book your room online.

We encourage you to make your reservations early; guest rooms at the Sheraton Boston Hotel are limited. Mention the Yoga Journal conference to receive the special group rate of $225 (plus tax) per night (single or double occupancy). This discounted room rate is on a space-available basis and has been extended until April 2, 2010.

All reservations must be made with a major credit number or certified check.
The Sheraton Boston will charge a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit equal to one night's room and tax to your credit card. This deposit will hold and confirm the reservation for the dates indicated.


Getting there by air
Boston's Logan International airport is the closest airport to the conference. Discount travel websites such as Kayak.com offer great rates to Boston from all over the U.S. and the world. Shared van transportation to Logan International Airport (BOS) through Ultimate Shuttle Service is available to hotel guests 24-hours, 7 days a week, with advance reservations. For reservations, call Ultimate Shuttle Service directly at (888) 437-4379 or online at www.ultimateshuttle.com. Tickets are $14/per person. Please note: the shuttle makes two scheduled stops after the Sheraton Boston Hotel. Cab fare from Boston's Logan International Airport to the Sheraton Boston is between $30 and $40. For more ground transport options, visit http://www.massport.com/logan/getti_typeo.html . Boston Cab Dispatch (617-536-5010) has hybrid cars in their fleet and a desk at the airport.

Getting there by Subway
There an is indoor connection to the Green Line (Prudential Center Stop) and Orange Line (Back Bay Station) via the Prudential Center and Copley Place Mall.

Eight rental car companies (including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty) operate at Logan International Airport. The Sheraton Boston Hotel is located 6 miles from Logan International Airport when traveling by car.

Parking
Valet parking at the Sheraton Boston Hotel is $42 per day (includes in and out privileges.) Self parking in the Prudential Center garage is $39 per day (no in and out privileges).

Meals
Meals at the conference are not included; however, there is no shortage of great restaurants for all budgets in the Back Bay area, especially in the Prudential Center.

Yoga Gear and Props
We strongly suggest that you bring a yoga mat, blanket, and strap. No mats or props will be provided for you in the classes. See course descriptions for other required items. Some of these items will also be available for sale on-site during limited marketplace hours.

Once you arrive to the Conference
When you arrive at the Sheraton, you must first stop at the conference Registration Desk on the 3rd Floor to pick up your badge and your event guide, which includes complete schedules and locations. Your badge will be your only admission to classes and events.

Continuing Education Credits
Yoga Journal is recognized by the American Council on Exercise (ACE ) as a continuing education specialist, and is currently under review for CECs for athletic and fitness professionals. Approved courses will be noted online two months prior to the conference.

All classes at the conference are eligible for Continuing Education Credits with Yoga Alliance. To receive Yoga Alliance credits, simply save a copy of your class record (either your badge or confirmation email.) Yoga Alliance will contact you when they need you to submit your continuing education information. Separate certificates are not needed for Yoga Alliance.
