In this class, we'll learn postural alignment cues and fascial techniques for to stabilize and release the neck/shoulder axis and regulate prana. We'll also explore asana adaptations for neck and shoulder injury prevention. Gain direct tools to train your student athletes to take them to their edge. Yoga is multidimensional and challenges the body in all planes of motion and integrates core strength and stability to provide a strong foundation. The practice of yoga increases the ability to be aware of where your body is in relation to time and space, which is your kinesthetic awareness and is an essential component for most competitive sports. Yoga brings in the elements of focus and intentionality for what we are actually doing with our bodies, which is also key for athletes to stay in their zone. Student athletes want to win and are willing to do most anything to gain the competitive edge; therefore, many are recognizing the potent fusion of muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, coordination, speed, agility, and body awareness that yoga has to contribute to their success.
