Come together into the collective power of breathing, moving, chanting, and meditating for peace as we open the celebration of YJ's 40 Years in a yoga practice centered around the art of namaskar (sun salutations.)

Celebrate Yoga Journal's 40 Years!

Join Yoga Journal's Editor in Chief Carin Gorrell as YJ celebrates their 40th anniversary and honors the 40 winners of their first ever Good Karma Awards. The fun and commemorative evening will be the opening ceremony to the main weekend event, highlighted by keynote speaker Seane Corn, renowned yoga teacher and Good Karma Award winner. Seane will share her insights on being an advocate for social change and a conscious leader in a talk entitled "Yoga, Transformation, and Social Justice: Reaching Beyond The Mat". The evening will close with a short and inspiring film in honor of YJ's 40th anniversary featuring many of our favorite yogis. Come celebrate with us!

Join Andrew Tanner, spokesman for Yoga Alliance, for a presentation and dialogue on the role of Yoga Alliance, social credentialing, trends in the business, government regulations, and the future of yoga.

LUNAFEST Film Festival

Established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, LUNAFEST connects women, their stories and their causes through film. This traveling film festival spotlights the work of a diverse array of talented women filmmakers with intelligent, funny and thought-provoking themes.

Each season, films tour 150+ venues and screen in front of 20,000 people across the U.S. and Canada. 100% of LUNAFEST proceeds go to nonprofit organizations - 15% are donated to the Breast Cancer Fund, the leading national organization focused on preventing breast cancer before it starts, and 85% to local community nonprofits. To date, LUNAFEST has featured over 83 women filmmakers, raised over $363,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund and over $570,000 for nonprofit organizations.

The Yoga Continuum: Facing Challenges with Courage and Compassion

naropaYoga and mindfulness can prepare us to face challenges as we age, move through illness, and reach our final journey. Join Yoga Journal in this continuation of Naropa University's Radical Compassion Symposium, as we delve into how yoga’s teachings and tools are a source of healing, understanding, coping, and acceptance for those experiencing health challenges, as well as for those in our support network. We’ll also illuminate how both western and eastern medical and wellness communities are adopting preventive, therapeutic and palliative care and incorporating yoga and Eastern wisdom practices in treatments for cancer, age-related diseases, and illness. In this powerful exploration, we’ll gain invaluable perspective, compassion, and understanding about the challenges to our overall health and well-being that we, and those we love, will inevitably face — and discover how yoga can be a source of strength and steadiness throughout.
