9:00am - 6:00pm: Healing Through Yoga: Session 2
Code: T2UZEN
At one time or another, everyone will deal with the symptoms of illness or injury that affect us physically and emotionally. Relieving the classic symptoms of pain, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, constipation and exhaustion (PANIC/E) through the use of yoga therapy and aromatherapy will be discussed and demonstrated. Jamie Naughright, Director of the Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT) Program will introduce the UZIT program and how it can be integrated into the healthcare team. Join Richard Rosen as he guides you through meditation and pranayama, and Dr. Baxter Bell who will lead you through asana practice as well as Young Living Essential Oils that will provide inspiring uses of therapeutic oils to reduce or eliminate the symptoms of PANIC/E. For all yogis who are passionate skiers, special focus will be given to the knee, introducing prevention, evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic injuries relating to the mat and the slopes. Join nationally recognized orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Larry Padgett and Jamie Naughright as they shares a case study on knee injury. This one-day workshop is based on curriculum presented in the 12-month Urban Zen Integrative Therapist Program.
