Thursday, November 11 — 9:00am - 4:30pm
Thursday All-Day Intensives
Continue Your Education

Restorative yoga moves us into a state of being, away from the normal activity of the body and the mind. Using props and long holds, it channels the energies through specific pathways and creates a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. During this OM Yoga Restorative Teacher Training, we'll practice a full sequence of restorative poses. Then we'll look at several key restorative asanas and work with partners to teach these poses to each other. This workshop also includes discussion about how to build your own sequences and how to offer these poses in studios without many props. Come gain confidence in teaching restorative yoga classes and incorporating them into your regular active yoga classes.

What to bring: A bolster, three blankets, one or two cushions, two blocks, and a yoga strap. Cameras are welcome, but no audio or video recording, please.
Discussion and asana.

Twists and sidebends bring tremendous energy to the body and reduce asymmetry in the sacrum and lower back. We'll emphasize supine, standing, and seated spinal twists that have a wringing effect on the internal organs and promote abundant circulation of blood through all the spinal nerves. The sequence includes gliding, rocking, and stretching movements.

What to bring: A strap, a block, and a blanket.
Discussion and asana.

Neck, Shoulders, and Upper Back in Purna Yoga
Aadil Palkhivala - Course ID: ATPALK

Thursday, November 11 — 9:00am - 4:30pm
Thursday All-Day Intensives
Therapeutic, Mixed Levels

Most of us carry tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back. When we hold tension here, we shrink blood vessels and thereby create pain and stiffness in this area, which can lead to headaches and fatigue. This tension in our upper spine reduces our ability to think clearly, communicate, and express what we need to say. Learn simple techniques for releasing tension in these key areas, and promote a stronger and clearer mind-body connection.

Tantra Vidya, Kundalini, and the Subtle Body
Rod Stryker - Course ID: ATSTRY

Thursday, November 11 — 9:00am - 4:30pm
Thursday All-Day Intensives
Mixed Levels

Tantra is the most comprehensive and holistic approach to yoga. Like the thread of a necklace, Tantra links all the gems of the diverse practices of yoga (including asana, pranayama, visualization, bandha, energy work, subtle anatomy, meditation, and alchemy) into a single, exalted approach. The aim of Tantra Yoga is to merge the material and the spiritual, to realize our potential in both, and to enable us to embody limitless power, freedom, and prosperity. Through theory and practice we'll explore Tantra's approach to Yoga and the practical methods that allow us to embody the boundless force of Spirit.

Discussion and asana practice.
