Alan Finger, South African Tantric and Kriya Yoga Master, began studying yoga at the age of 16 with his father, Mani Finger, and renowned swamis of the past century. Alan and Mani created ISHTA Yoga, which integrates breath-based flow yoga with alignment, meditation, and healing bodywork. Before creating a home for ISHTA, Alan cofounded Yoga Zone, Be Yoga, and YogaWorks. Alan has coauthored several books including Introduction to Yoga with Al Bingham and Chakra Yoga and Breathing Space with Katrina Repka. He travels the world to share his teachings and currently lives and teaches in New York City where he co-owns ISHTA Yoga with his wife, Sarah Finger.
Sarah Platt-Finger cofounded ISHTA Yoga with Alan and their partner Bruce Wilcox in May of 2008. As the teacher training director, she helped to develop one of the most renowned teacher training programs in New York City and was instrumental in the creation of ISHTA Europe, which currently holds trainings in London and Stockholm. Sarah is now the managing director of ISHTA Yoga and aspires to create a home for everyone who walks through the doors of its two Manhattan locations. Her classes offer a blend of stimulating music, alignment-based flow, and an overarching theme of returning back to the perfection of the True Self. Her daughter, Satya, inspires her every day, reminding her how to live a life that is based on truth and the wisdom of the heart. Learn more at ishtayoga.com.
