+ Freedom and Clarity: Deeper Backbends Without Struggle or Straining
Freedom and Clarity: Deeper Backbends Without Struggle or Straining Instructor: Jason Crandell
Practiced skillfully, backbends awaken the spine and clear the mind. Unfortunately, we can also compress the lower back and overexpose the front body if we are too aggressive or performance oriented. Discover greater depth--and greater comfort--in your backbends by using your arms, legs, and spine more effectively. Learn to decompress your lower back in Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow Pose) and discover what postures effectively prepare your hips, spine, and shoulders for backbending. Experienced students will explore what's beyond Upward Bow, including Kapotasana, Scorpion, Natarajasana, and Pigeon Variations while less experienced students will learn alternative postures. You leave with a fully illustrated home practice sequence to help you with Urdhva Dhanurasana.
