Matthew Sanford is a visionary, a yoga teacher, a renowned public speaker, and a paraplegic for the last twenty-eight years. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed Waking: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence (Rodale: 2006). Matthew uses his unique experience to be a leading voice for the integration of a mind/body approach into our medical and rehabilitation practices
Immediately following Matthew's keynote:
Michael Perricone and Shakti will perform a concert/meditation featuring over 50 antique Tibetan singing bowls. Used as meditation tools for over 2,500 years, the bowls harmonically tune our bodies on a cellular level and entrain our brainwaves into a deep state of relaxation and meditation.
Michael Perricone has been a recording mixer and producer for many diverse artists. Michael now combines an affinity for yoga with his eclectic musical abilities to create “Journey of Seven Bowls”, and “Sacred Bowls”, a collection of Tibetan bowl recordings.
Shakti co-founded Bodhisattva Trading Company in 1996 which has evolved into the premier source of custom-assembled chakra-tuned singing bowl sets for holistic healers, musicians and collectors world wide. Shakti has trained thousands of people in the use of singing bowls as ancient meditation tools. |
