If you feel the call to be more of a leader—whether in your personal, parenting/family, or work life; in organizations; or in the world—this intensive can provide the tools and insight necessary to help you build confidence, affirm commitments, and confront perceived limitations. We’ll explore using the process of yoga for self-investigation as we navigate through the many practical and spiritual tools available for shedding light on our questions and healing the wounds within that can keep us from reaching our full power and potential. Through a nourishing, reflective, and challenging vinyasa flow yoga class designed to inspire, we’ll ground and clear the mind and body. Then, through discussion, journaling, and other exercises, we will explore our vision, voice, and passion, while learning how to cultivate and amplify them on a group level. This intensive is meant to help you identify your obstructions, define your purpose, and begin the process of seeing yourself as a leader within your own world—a role necessary in our ever-evolving culture of change. Asana and discussion. All levels. Knowledge of Sun Salutations A and B are helpful but not necessary.

Prana governs the inhalations, and apana governs exhalations. Linking prana and apana together is the heart of the Ashtanga vinyasa system, creating the core postures, bandhas, drishtis, and breathing rhythms. These core techniques are so simple and yet so subtle that most practitioners overlook them. By exploring them, we'll find new freedom and ease in our practice. Discussion and asana.
Instructor: Julie Gudmestad Friday, March 27 9:00am-4:30pm: All-Day Intensive Code: AFGUDM continue your education
Protect yourself and your students from common injuries and strains. We'll discuss gravity's effects on the body and how certain positions put leverage and strenuous loads on the spine and other joints. Then we'll work on poses and teaching techniques so teachers can use proper body mechanics as they demonstrate and adjust students. Discussion and asana.

As we bring symmetry to the body by balancing it, we come to our elusive center. Dancing close to the center sets the foundation for posture that allows ease of breath. From here, it's possible to balance the inhalation and the exhalation, which leads to a steady mind. Includes asana, pranayama, and meditation.
