Green Yoga Activism: Quantum Community
Instructor: Gillian Kapteyn Comstock with Green Yoga Assoc. Teachers
Monday, January 19
9:00am-4:30pm: All-Day Intensive
Code: AMGREE
All Levels

Supercharge your intentions for local and global activism on Martin Luther King Day, one day before the inauguration of President Obama. The astounding surge of hope around the world generated by this huge political shift is an opportunity for yogis around the world to commit to grassroots leadership in planetary healing. On this auspicious day transform your yoga practice with a full immersion in Green Yoga. And with a lexicon of innovative green yoga practices, complete the day by celebrating the power of our yoga community with a participatory eco-yoga-art event, "Quantum Communty". Yes, we can!

A portion of the proceeds from this intensive will be donated to the Green Yoga Association to support contemplatively based, ecological activism in communities around the planet.

Paige Wyatt lives and breathes in Santa Cruz, CA. She's dreaming of big things and taking small steps towards those dreams. She spends a lot of time upside down or wondering when the next time is that she'll be upside down. Teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Slackline Yoga, and AcroYoga keep her laughing and constantly creating, connecting, and playing. A butterfly whisperer, she likes to hang out in meadows and talk to the tall green grass. She has been involved with the Green Yoga Association since attending the first conference in 2005 and falling in love with the concept, where she could fuse her passion for the environment with her love of yoga. She is now active in the Green Yoga Council.

David Lurey is a San Francisco based Global Yogi who has served on the Founding Advisory Board of the Green Yoga Association since 2004. He was one of the main creators and coordinators of ‘The Green Studios Program' designed to bring eco-friendly business practices to yoga studios. David weaves an ecological awareness into asana classes and sees the link between Yoga and ecology as an important step towards shifting consciousness. With his current position on the Green Yoga Council and as a traveling teacher, he works to build and foster intersecting communities united with the vision of health and healing to ourselves and the planet.
