Jois. Although rooted in
Ashtanga, Nicki's classes
combine asana, pranayama,
philosophy, and poetry.
Nicki lives in Sebastopol,
CA with her husband, Eddie
Modestini. Together, they
co-direct Maya Yoga Studios
in both California and Maui,

Move, dance, and sing in the spirit of peace! Meet and greet yourself in a vinyasa-style class led by Nicki and Eddie that starts and ends with the uplifting music of Michael Franti. On our mats, we'll focus our breath to raise the vibrational quality of peace and work to spread our light and extend it to where it's needed the most.

An introduction to the profound work of Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, considered the yogi's road map. We'll discuss and chant the three sutras that relate to asana practice, as well as a few of Nicki's favorites. No chanting experience necessary, only a desire to deepen your practice. Discussion and chanting.

The practice of backbending can be exhilarating, terrifiying, and incredibly fulfilling. Nicki and Eddie will prepare the body, mind, and spirit in a safe, supportive manner to practice these amazing poses in a deep, powerful way. Please bring any yoga props you may need. Mostly asana.

Learn to create safety and strength by applying basic alignment principles to a Vinyasa Fusion practice. Morning class will be a vigorous vinyasastyle practice that includes Sun Salutations, standing poses, backbends, forward bends, lunge work, and cultivating awareness in our hands and feet. The afternoon session will be more reflective in nature, exploring various hip-openers, inversions, and chanting.
